New Year, new look and being in such a hip place like L.A. always means, you have to be as cool as the rest. So who would be better than someone whose hair styling skills are trusted by Jennifer Lopez, Tori Spelling, Faye Dunaway and Winona Ryder. Well I got a new head by Lance and he found the perfect color that supports my skin tone. We'll see what my fans think...

We are finally including our dancers into our rehearsals, and our new choreographer Jacqualyn 'Jackie' Jackson is leading our rehearsals to get us ready for some upcoming shows. She also is training all of us to put the last missing piece of my music video for 'What U Want' together, which is going to be a hot lyrical dance combination with sexy hip hop moves. I could not find anyone better for this song, because Jackie knows exactly how to put all the pieces of a fine ballet and jazz training together. I am not surprised, she started her dance training with 5 and performed in pieces such as 'The Nutcracker' and 'Don Quixote' and went on to do a scholarship at Debbie Reynolds after dancing for a long time at the Millenium Dance Complex.

I went with my booking agent to New York to promote my music and to talk to labels. Those were the coldest days of my last 3 years, and there is no global warming? Cannot fool me.

This month I am welcoming another new entry to my team. Dawn is my newest backing singer, from Philly (Philadelphia) and is starting to rehearse with us on a weekly basis. She will be entering the stage with us soon.

I am nervous, my rehearsals are continuing, with new singers that were recently auditioned. Charlotte from Orlando and Sunea from Michigan. This is quite an exotic troup.

Woah, I did it. I built my first vocal booth with the help of a friend. Unbelievable that I ordered the vocal foam from Germany and here it is, my own recording booth. It is the shape of an octagon and YES I already slept in it.

Well, since I am in Germany anyway, I might as well check out some music stores and see what microphones they have - after all, mine broke and my rental mic needs to be returned soon.
I tested lots of microphones over two days, thinking I will drive the sales person crazy, but he was one of the rare sort who really have a passion for their job (in this case being a mic specialist) - I got the sense he enjoyed dealing with a pro, testing and realizing every mic's strength and weakness, analyzing everything. Yes, this is what I love about Germans, they care!
The result - I am walking out of Lindberg with a brand new Neumann U87! I can't wait to get home and plug it in!

My party highlight for this month was Sven Väth in Ibiza - as usual, his set was pumping the blood into my veins, very bass heavy and really weird dark sounds. I love it. Thanks, Sven!

I am traveling to Germany and Spain to promote my music and to start shooting my music video for 'What U Want' - there will be 5 locations in all across Europe. I could not hold off visiting my family and friends while in Munich - some still old friends, some unfortunately turn their back on you.
August 1st, 2005
I went to the US surf open in Huntington Beach to promote my music to all the OC Kids.

My singing teacher back in Europe performed one of the first 'Hair' musicals ever performed and here I am, just met one of the original writers of this musical. This is crazy, how small this world is - we visited her in her house in Malibu, and had inspirational talks while looking out to the ocean.

Something terrible happened this week, my studio mic fell and broke during a recording session. This was my personal treasure. Imagine someone takes out your heart while you are still breathing, that hurts... I was feeling terrible pain and I want a new microphone, one that is even better than the one that just broke.

North Hollywood is known as the arts district, close where I live, so photographer Mikul took me out to do an edgy cool shoot.

I started to get into a new addiction, partially because we were so long on the road - I started to make jewelry, mainly from beads that I bought along the lonely roads towards South Dakota. I started with one piece, and suddenly there were 99. Soon I want to have my first art show.

Well, I made it. This was the greatest experiences of my life, and no money can buy this. We ran from one reservation to the other, spoke to youth and elders in talking circles - about their struggles, their past and their future hopes. We participated in ceremonies and prayed together. Finally, in the Black Hills of South Dakota, all the runners from the 4 directions came together and met up and we held a 4-day ceremony with our host, Chief Lookinghorse, who had the original vision that we helped to carry thru. Runners also came from Alaska, and from Nicaragua, and Boston. The hardest part for everyone was to get up every morning with the sunrise to participate in the morning ceremony, especially after running all day and going late to bed. We often slept only 4 hours, and keep in mind that everyone has never worked together or met each other before, and suddenly you spend a month living together. You get the learning experience of your life. I met people from all over the world. Just about this whole event I could write a book...

I can't believe what I just did - I just signed up to run half-way across the country, and I've never even run a marathon before. I met this woman named Olivia, the West Coast coordinator for the 'Prayer Run For World Peace'. She told me they need runners and support stuff to go from Sacramento to South Dakota, and without knowing what happened, my name was suddenly on the runners list. I did not sleep for weeks, thinking how am I going to get ready to run over 1,500 miles, and take a month off...

Wow… what a week. We have been working in a team of 4 on my new website and it is lots of work, but wow the results are incredible. End of next week we will be having a huge dancer audition in Studio City, we expect about 50 dancers to participate and we will be picking 4 for all our upcoming shows. When I peeked into the pictures, I saw some really cute guys who will be stopping by - and some really cool chicks too, with great haircuts!

I had to start this week again with my dance training to forget how nervous I am about the upcoming radio promotion. I also found this absolutely amazing clothing line, which was made just for me. We had a meeting with them already but I am still hesitating to let the secret out. Soon.
Two hours later…
How often have I been driving by this amazing music store called Amoeba Music on Sunset? I could not believe when today we just walked in there, and now they are starting to carry my EP. I am excited and it is again unbelievable, how sometimes I think about things and later on they become real.
Tomorrow we are meeting with our 2 web designers, who are going to do my new website. Both guys are not even Americans, that is funny. Benjamin is French, Matt is Australian. Seems to be an international team here.

Happy Valentine’s to you! I hope people still value this day and remember who and what is important to them.
Next week my nationwide radio promotion, lead by Howard Rosen, will be starting. I see myself getting totally nervous and anxious. Over 470 stations have been approached and I had no idea what amazing places are out there.
